Letter From the Clerk
This Sunday, August 26, 2018, there will be an important Called Meeting for Business during second hour at the request of the combined Ad Hoc Construction, Capital Campaign, and Property & Finance Committees. The committees met last night (August 21st) and are proposing three recommendations for consideration by the Meeting:
1. To accept the $331,267.00 construction contract from Shelterwood Energy and Design Solutions to demolish and rebuild the Meetinghouse (excluding the Meetingroom which has already been renovated) according to plans drafted by Matt Ellenwood of Matte Black Architecture.
2. To budget the amount of $10,000 for furnishings, until a more detailed expense schedule can be produced.
3. To submit a loan application for $150,000 to both Old National Bank and Everence Federal Credit Union. (The final loan amount will be reduced from that figure by the amount we raise in Capital Campaign between now and the project’s completion).
We are hoping that as many members and attenders of Meeting as possible can attend. If you cannot attend, please send comments to the Clerk (firstname.lastname@example.org) to be shared at the Called Meeting.
Relevant documents for the Called Meeting will be available shortly.
As with other business meetings, there will be a potluck lunch beforehand so that we are all well-nourished during this important period of discernment.
Let us all hold our Meeting in the light,
Clerk, Bloomington Friends Meeting
